Positive Fridays - Week of March 12th, 2012

Happy Friday everyone!!!  Some of you may be ending Spring Break and others about to start it.  We have another week to go!

Time for some hoppin' positives that I hope will make you smile!

- My blog has over 16,000 views!  I can't believe so many of you keep coming back to my blog.  You make me smile every time that I see those numbers shoot up like that.  Amazing!

- I was in the same Kindergarten class all this week.  I didn't have hardly any plans as it was due to a big emergency so I got to try some of my own things out, which was so much fun!  I also got to play a lot of music from my favorite CDs by "The Learning Station."  They happen to be located in Melbourne, FL and I'm from Brevard County so it is so excited to have a children's group so close by!  I loved seeing their excited faces a they did the movements to the CD.

Here's a fun song you may enjoy:

- A parent from the class wrote me a few very nice notes and also said she complimented me in the front office!   It makes me feel so good when parents go that extra mile and especially since I'm only a sub right now!

- Walking into the cafeteria was just so much fun this week as I had Kindergarten children and 3rd graders who were just beyond excited to see me!  It's so nice to see so many get so excited.  That's the nice part of subbing that I feel so loved by so many different classes of children and different grade levels!

- Today, I head off to 1st grade at another school that I sub at a lot.  The Kindergarten children will have another sub as I was already booked and I hope their teacher will be back next week, they miss her so much!

Until next time keep Hoppin' with me at Hopkins' Hoppin' Happenings!

  1. Brian, I love your Positive Fridays! Who wouldn't benefit from focusing on some positives after a week of standardized testing (at least in my district)?
I have given you the One Lovely Blog award because your blog is lovely. Not the most macho award you'll ever get, but, hey, affirmations are always appreciated, right? You can read all about it on my blog.

    1. Thanks Barb, I'm glad you like them. I will keep doing them since everyone seems to enjoy them so much! Yuck hate all that testing. Here in FL we have it in mid April. I actually got that award from 2 others and posted it a few posts back just haven't got the award up yet. I will add your link to that post tomorrow!

  2. I love your positive Fridays. My positive thought this week happened at my daughter's school. I am the PTA mom in charge of teacher appreciation. Each month my committee organizes a luncheon for our wonderful staff and faculty. Today, in honor of St. Patrick's Day we had a baked potato bar along with desserts and Irish tea. It was so much fun working with different parents and helping the teachers. Plus, this was their week for parent-teacher conferences so we wanted support them and lighten their load with a delicious lunch.

P.S. If you ever want to plan a baked potato bar luncheon at your school, I wrote about it on my blog.

    1. Thank you so much! I'm glad everyone loves it and thanks so much for sharing your positive! I have no doubt the teachers loved that. I would love it myself! Here teacher appreciate is in May. I will certainly consider that idea or pass it on the right people once I can land a regular teaching job!

    1. It is so much fun to act silly for them. I used to it all the time for Kindergarten. One of them even gave me an award certificate my first year and I have it framed in my house. It said I was the funniest and funnest (I know not a word, but hey she was 5) teacher ever. I was happy to see a child realized I how silly I was being!
