#1 Kids Best Songs - Learning Station CD Giveaway

Are you ready for another Giveaway?  The Learning Station has agreed to giveaway another great CD.  This one is called #1 Best Kid's Songs.

First, I'll give my take on the CD.  Opinions are of my own only!  The CD includes lyrics and instruction on how to get your kids moving!  I completely believe that children need to be up and moving and if they are up and moving for part of the day there is less of a chance of disruptions!

The CD starts with a great song that I think is perfect to start any school day called "Make New Friends."  It's a great song that teaches children to make new friends while still keeping their old friends!

Song #2 is called "Nursery Rhyme Dance" and is a song that includes many nursery rhymes in a fun upbeat song that will get your children pretending to play different musical instruments!  Check out the video by clicking the link.

Song #3 is called "Boom Chicka Boom."  This would be a fun song to do with the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.  You can check out the video for the song here:

Song #4 "I Love The Mountains" is a perfect song to tie into Social Studies when children are learning about mountains, hills, forests, and oceans!  It has such catchy words that children will love to sing it and act out the hand motions, which are included in the lyrics!

Another of my favorites on the CD is song #8 as it was one of my favorites as a child called "Day O' Time To Go Home."  This is a perfect song to end your day with your class.  They will leave your class with a big smile on their face!

Song #12 is probably my favorite children's song of all time thanks to the Learning Station putting together this great song that goes with such a good book.  The song is called "Fill Your Bucket."  The song reminds children and adults to fill your imaginary bucket and others with kindness.  Some ways to be kind including helping someone, doing something unexpected to make someone smile, smiling, and of course holding hands!  If you missed the video on my previous post please click here to read more about it!

Song #13 "Rockin' My Hips" has the children dancing and moving different body parts.  What a great way to get them to move and get their wiggles out.  The song is so catchy they will be singing it all day long!  This is probably my favorite uptempo song on the CD!

Positive Fridays - Week of March 12th, 2012

Happy Friday everyone!!!  Some of you may be ending Spring Break and others about to start it.  We have another week to go!

Time for some hoppin' positives that I hope will make you smile!

- My blog has over 16,000 views!  I can't believe so many of you keep coming back to my blog.  You make me smile every time that I see those numbers shoot up like that.  Amazing!

- I was in the same Kindergarten class all this week.  I didn't have hardly any plans as it was due to a big emergency so I got to try some of my own things out, which was so much fun!  I also got to play a lot of music from my favorite CDs by "The Learning Station."  They happen to be located in Melbourne, FL and I'm from Brevard County so it is so excited to have a children's group so close by!  I loved seeing their excited faces a they did the movements to the CD.

Here's a fun song you may enjoy:

- A parent from the class wrote me a few very nice notes and also said she complimented me in the front office!   It makes me feel so good when parents go that extra mile and especially since I'm only a sub right now!

- Walking into the cafeteria was just so much fun this week as I had Kindergarten children and 3rd graders who were just beyond excited to see me!  It's so nice to see so many get so excited.  That's the nice part of subbing that I feel so loved by so many different classes of children and different grade levels!

- Today, I head off to 1st grade at another school that I sub at a lot.  The Kindergarten children will have another sub as I was already booked and I hope their teacher will be back next week, they miss her so much!

Until next time keep Hoppin' with me at Hopkins' Hoppin' Happenings!

Brian :-)
