Teacher Tips Linky Party

Michelle over at Teach123 is having a Linky Party on Teacher Tips.  She asks when you think about your first year of teaching or when you switched grade levels what do you wish you had known before you began?  What advice can you give to your fellow teachers?

The following are my tips:

  3. I wish someone would have told me to go through my students' records my first year. I didn't do it until the end of the year when I was filling out the permanent record cards. It explained so much. Things I blamed myself for, I found there had been a pattern of for years. If only someone had told me to do this!

Thanks for joining my Teaching Tips Linky Party. I made a Pinterest Board called Teaching Tips and added your tips. You can check it out here: http://pinterest.com/teach123school/teaching-tips/

    1. I know what you mean Michelle, I'm with you on that one! I'm still amazed that so many other veteran teachers don't through those records right away. I try to do it as soon as I have a class list or at least within the first week of school. Often times it helps me seat them correctly to begin with!

You are welcome, thanks for joining my linky party too! Love the pinterest board!

  4. Doesn't it make you crazy when they forget things you know they know? You know it is in there.

    1. Tricia,
It sure does! We just have to learn not to blame ourselves and just keep reviewing it!
