I wish someone would have told me to go through my students' records my first year. I didn't do it until the end of the year when I was filling out the permanent record cards. It explained so much. Things I blamed myself for, I found there had been a pattern of for years. If only someone had told me to do this!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining my Teaching Tips Linky Party. I made a Pinterest Board called Teaching Tips and added your tips. You can check it out here: http://pinterest.com/teach123school/teaching-tips/

I know what you mean Michelle, I'm with you on that one! I'm still amazed that so many other veteran teachers don't through those records right away. I try to do it as soon as I have a class list or at least within the first week of school. Often times it helps me seat them correctly to begin with!
DeleteYou are welcome, thanks for joining my linky party too! Love the pinterest board!
Doesn't it make you crazy when they forget things you know they know? You know it is in there.
