Reality TV and Silent E Game

Those of you that know me or have ventured over to my About Me page know I am a huge reality tv fan.  One of 4th graders I subbed a month for and her mother hopped online to my about me page and found out I love reality tv and started talking to me about my favorite show in the world Survivor a few months ago.  A couple of other 4th graders in the class were big fans of the show too.  A special shout out to any of them if they are out there reading this.  I am super sad to see Survivor done for the year, it sure was girl power!  I am also sad that Amazing Race (Glad to see Brenden and Rachel from Big Brother do so well finishing 3rd) is done and Apprentice will finish up on Sunday.

I am now watching America's Got Talent, Bachelorette and can't wait for Big Brother!  Are you a reality tv show junkie like me?  If so I would love to know what shows you watch and what you thought of Survivor, Amazing Race, and Apprentice this year!

Sorry for those that aren't into that.  Now back to what I do best, teach!!!  My I Have Who Has Games are very popular so I am continuing to make them with words that also contain some nonsense words.  The purpose of this is if the students understand the pattern they can read the nonsense words and thus can chunk up big words into syllables.  My latest is on Silent E!  Click the picture to go check it out and if you have any suggestions for future I Have Who Has Games please leave me a comment below!

  2. Decode regularly spelled one-syllable words.
  3. Know final -e and common vowel team conventions for representing long vowel sounds.
  4. Use knowledge that every syllable must have a vowel sound to determine the number of syllables in a printed word.
  5. Decode two-syllable words following basic patterns by breaking the words into syllables.
  6. Read words with inflectional endings.
  7. Recognize and read grade-appropriate irregularly spelled words.
