Happy Tuesday! No tutoring the week before due to the family being sick so that is why there was no blog post. I was back to tutoring last Wednesday though! I hope each of you had a great Valentine's Day! Valentine's Day is over, but your students still make like these fun themes and kids love hearts anyway!
We started off tutoring working on finding the whole number with a reminder of a fraction using my Fractions of a Whole Number with Remainders. These in black and white and come with a recording sheet and answer key so you can use them as you wish! After missing one she did an excellent job and didn't miss any more!
We then worked on finding the missing factor in multiplication equations using my Valentine's Day Llamas Missing Number Equations. These are in color only and come with a recording sheet, answer key, and an optional game board. Land on a Llama and the student gets to go again! She didn't miss any!
We finished tutoring working on adding and subtracting 3 fractions with like denominators using my Valentine Superheroes Adding and Subtracting Fractions Task Cards. She did an incredible job soaring through these!
We also worked on a couple of partial multiplication and addition charts that she was able to do in less than 3 minutes.
Thank you for hoppin' by Hopkins' Hoppin' Happenings! Keep on smiling!

Tutoring Tuesdays - February 13th, 2018
Happy Tuesday! Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow for those who celebrate!
First I'd love to let you know that the TPT sale is going on Wednesday and Thursday, February 14th and 15th. Click on the picture to check out my store where even Bundles will be on sale. Bundles are already on sale for 20 to 30% off on a typical day. You'll be saving up to 55% off my bundles during the sale. You truly can't beat that! Be sure to use the code XOXO at checkout.
The 2nd grader was on top of her game as we had time to do several activities and games last week. We started out working on counting dollars and coins while writing it out with the dollar sign and decimal point. We used my Counting Dollars and Coins Task Cards. I put it with a game board like I usually do. The game board is not included with the set. It includes a recording sheet and answer key so you can play Scoot, Quiz, Quiz Trade, etc.
We next worked on Roman Numbers to 13 using my Roman Numerals Clip It Cards. She knew all but number 13!
We then did a quick multiplication game that I bought on TPT from another seller to practice multiplying by 2's. She only missed 2x0 and 2x1. She did terrific!
Next, we worked on telling time to the 5 minutes using my Telling Time to the 5 Minutes Task Cards. I again put it with a game board. We used my new unicorn game board. The game board is not included with this set of task cards, but the cards come with a bunch of suggestions!
Then we worked on mixed number fractions using my Mixed Number Clip It Cards. Here she was given a circle of a fraction, whole number, or mixed number and had to identify it.
We finished tutoring with a few 3 Digit Subtraction Task Cards that you can see in my previous blog post.

Tutoring Tuesdays - February 6th, 2018
Happy Tuesday! Wow, it's already February! I hope those of you who watched the Super Bowl enjoyed the game. I watched the Puppy Bowl instead.
Last week I worked with the 2nd grader more on counting dollars using my Counting Dollar Bills Task Cards. We worked on counting 1 dollar bills, 5 dollar bills, and 10 dollar bills. It also includes 20 dollar bills but we did not get that far. She only missed a couple. I put it with a new Unicorn game board. The game board is sold with my Unicorn Games. If you land on a unicorn you go again but if you land on the rainbow poop you go back to start!
We also worked on counting coins using my Counting Coins Clip It Task Cards. There are 24 cards where she had to find the the correct amount with the decimal point! She did an excellent job and didn't miss a single question! This set also includes 24 cards without the decimal point and just has the cent sign with different choices for answers.
We finished using my Valentine's Day 3 Digit Subtraction Task Cards. We only had time to do a few cards. I put them with the Valentine's Day Monster Board Game, which is not included with these task cards. You can get the game board for FREE. Land on a monster go back to start, but land on a bunny you get to go again!

Tutoring Tuesdays - January 30th, 2018
Happy Tuesday! The last Tuesday of the month. Where has time gone?
Last Tuesday, we started working on reading a thermometer and telling the temperature if it was 5 degrees higher or lower using a thermometer where that counted by 5's using my Temperature Task Cards. The task cards come with 24 where the student tells the exact temperature and 24 where the student tells the temperature if it was 5 degrees more or less. For tutoring, I put it with my groundhog game board that can be found in many of my groundhog products HERE. The game is not included with these task cards. They can be used to play Scoot, Quiz Quiz Trade, etc.
Next, we worked on counting dollars with my Counting Dollar Bills Task Cards. We worked on counting one dollar bills and then one dollar with five dollar bills. The 24 task cards include bills to $20. I put this one with my Bug in My Marshmallow game that can be found HERE. The game again is not included with the money task cards.
We finished working with 1 more or one less using my print and play game boards from my Valentine's Day One More or One Less Centers. In the game pictured students roll one dice and tell what number comes next. There is another game where they roll one dice and tell what number comes right before. Numbers are between 100 and 1,000. Land on a bunny you get to go again but watch out for the monster as it will send you back to start!

Tutoring Tuesdays - January 23rd, 2018
Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a great Monday.
Last Wednesday, I tutored the wonderful 2nd grader. I started out reviewing 2 digit Subtraction and also a few cards for 2 digit Addition. We used my Snowman 2 Digit Subtraction Regrouping Task Cards and Snowman 2 Digit Addition Regrouping Task Cards. We especially worked hard on the Subtraction ones with a difference of 1 digit in the ones place like 8 and 9 or 4 and 3. The board game I used with her is NOT included with the task cards. The board game comes with my Snowman Sight Word Race game.
We spent the last half of tutoring again working on 1 More or 1 Less. We used my new Valentine's Day One More, One Less Race game from the centers pack. I wrote One's, Ten's, and Hundred's on a white board and had her draw to show how many one's, ten's, and hundreds. I then had her show one more or one less and circle groups of ten and move them over to the next place or cross out a ten or hundred to borrow 10 tens or 10 ones. I used this strategy to hope that helps her understand the ones where carrying or borrowing would occur if writing it out as a math problem. This does come with a game board. Plus some other fun centers.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Good Morning amazing fans, friends, students, fellow teachers, parents, and family! Happy Valentine's Day to each and everyone of you. I am working on a new freebie for you.
If you are a student, parent of a student or a fellow teacher of mine all my paid products will always be free to you. You are the reason that I teach! Send me an e-mail with your name so I know who you are and tell me what item you want and it is yours! This isn't just for today, but anytime!
I am really enjoying spending an amazing time with a great bunch of 3rd and 4th grade students. I wanted to share that we are having an Ice Cream Social party. The children are bringing in the toppings, silverware, bowls, etc. and I am supplying the ice cream! They will also get to exchange Valentines. I thought other teachers may enjoy this idea for their classroom for future parties. I am going to enjoy my time with them as I say goodbye and look for other subbing jobs on Tuesday because their teacher will return.
Thank you all for believing in me and supporting my blog. I am simply amazed that it has done so well. I now have almost 3.600 views. I am simply amazed! Thanks for hoppin' by to Hopkins' Hopkins' Happenings!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Brian :-)

February Behavior Freebie
My January Penguin Freebie is flying off the shelves so I thought I'd make one for February! This one has two different sayings on them. One of the sayings is intentionally misspelled as it is supposed to be a fun behavior note! If you don't like that one check out the note which is also without the black background.
Graphics by Trina Clark at http://digiscrapkits.com Borders by http://traceeorman.com
Check out the Penguin Freebie to see how I use these in my own classroom! January Penguin Freebie
I would appreciate a rating and comment if you decide to download it so I know what you like about it or what I can do to make it better. Would you like me to continue to make these each month or ditch the idea? Also please follow my TPT store so you are one of the first to check out the new products!
