Tutoring Tuesdays - May 29th, 2018

I'm back! Happy Tuesday! I didn't tutor two weeks ago, but I was back to tutoring last Wednesday. I can't believe that May is almost over. The kids are out for the summer in the county that I live in.

We started out working on multiplication facts playing a Bump game that I downloaded free from another seller.

Next, I worked on with her ordering numbers to the thousands as she had some trouble with that this school year. We used my Beach Buckets Ordering Numbers to 1,000 Task Cards. I had her order them from least to greatest. That is how I have the answer key set, but you can have them order them from greatest to least if you want. There are 10 sets of cards.

We finished tutoring working on some division playing by playing my Summer Trolls Division Race game. Land on a troll you get to go again, but land on a monster it chases you back to start!

Tutoring Tuesdays - October 10th, 2017

We moved tutoring to Wednesdays which gives me even more time to get this blog post up. Check out the fun games I did with the superstar 2nd grader that I tutor.

The first thing I did was review before, after, and between numbers to 120 using my Bats Before, After, and Between Numbers Task Cards. I put them with the Bats game board that goes with my Bats Sight Word Race game. Land on an owl go back to start as it eats the bat but land on a bat you get to go again. These cards can also be used to play Scoot, Quiz, Quiz Trade, etc. They come with a recording sheet and answer key. Click on the picture to grab the task cards (without the game board).

Next we worked on ordering numbers to 1,000 least to greatest, but they can also be used greatest to least. We used my Fall Greatest or Least to 1,000 Task Cards and the game board that goes with it. The game board has spots that tell children to go back to start or go again. Click on the picture to grab the task cards with the game board.

We ended tutoring with my 3 Digit Addition Regrouping Task Cards and put it with my Spider game board which can be found on my Spider Sight Word Fluency Phrases Race teaching resource. Children who land on a spider have to go back to start. These cards are great for Scoot. A recording sheet and answer key are included. There is enough room to actually write on the cards. I always give her a dry erase marker and have her solve it right on the card. Click on the picture to grab the task cards (without the game board).

Freebie Friday - Expanded Notation

Here is a fun game on expanded notation to 120 focusing on 1st grade common core standard for place value.  Children can play concentration match or go fish while matching the expanded notation with the answer.  If you enjoy this game be sure to take a look at my place value unit!

My place value unit was requested by a wonderful fan.  The numbers go to 120 making it a perfect fit for 1st grade classrooms or a great review in 2nd grade.  I am working on one for 2nd grade as well so be on the look out!  What skills would you like to see me make?  Post in the comments below and I will try to get to as many of them as I can.  Next up I will be working on a June fun behavior note (I know I'm far behind thanks to computer trouble, but all is fixed now) and more fraction fun!

Click the picture for your freebie!  Don't forget to rate nicely and leave a nice comment.  You will bring a smile to my face and it only takes a minute to do!
