Common Core Insect Blends Game and May Freebie

I know it's been ages since I made a new game to share with everyone.  I have finally done it and I hope your students will have a blast with this.  My I Have Who Has CVC Real Word/Nonseword Unit has been very popular so I just made a game for blends.  It is also I Have Who Has and contains both real words and nonsense words.  The blends in this game are all "l" blends.

1st grade Common Core Standards:

1.RFS.3

Reading: Foundational Skills

Phonics and Word Recognition

3. Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.
  1. Know the spelling-sound correspondences for common consonant digraphs (two letters that represent one sound).
  2. Decode regularly spelled one-syllable words.
  3. Know final -e and common vowel team conventions for representing long vowel sounds.
  4. Use knowledge that every syllable must have a vowel sound to determine the number of syllables in a printed word.
  5. Decode two-syllable words following basic patterns by breaking the words into syllables.
  6. Read words with inflectional endings.
  7. Recognize and read grade-appropriate irregularly spelled words.

As always you know the drill click on the picture to go to TPT and check out this amazing game!

I know I am super late with my behavior fun notes, but I finally made one for May.  It says ______ had an aMAYzing day!  I hope it is something you can use in your classroom the last few weeks of school.  click the picture to get it for FREE!!!  If you decide to download it please leave a nice rating and comment.  It only takes a minute and will fill my bucket with love!  Thank you for your support!

  2. I really like your I have Who Has game for blends. I can't believe that I have never played that game in my classroom! It is certainly time to start. Thanks for being my 100th follower on my blog. I am happy to meet you and follow your blog. What great diversity of posts! I have to admit, that with a preteen in the house, we listen to whatever she wants in the car!

  3. Pamela,
Thank you so much! I have the CVC version of that game for free in my store so go check it out and give it a try in your classroom. Promise you the kids will beg to play again and again and again! I like it also because it makes them LISTEN!!! You are very welcome. I try to post different things so I can reach different grade levels since I'm just a sub right now! I can believe that, preteens have their own style of music and each preteen is so different! It was shortly after that when I got into country, I think I was 13 or 14! Brian :-)
