1st Grade Christmas Fun!

Christmas will be here before we all know it so I decided to start making some fun centers.  I decided to start with 1st grade this time.  The centers in this pack are for Reading and Math.  They include Tricky 9 Addition, Making 10's using double 10 frames, finding the missing number (addition and subtraction), reading graphic organizers, digraphs, and CVCe.  It also includes worksheets for each center and answer keys.

One of my favorites that I made is the Missing Numbers game, which I call Santa's Missing Cookies.  Children have to match the Polar Bear with the missing number on the number sentence with Santa's number.  They can play Go Fish or Match.  You can easily turn this into a fun hands-on learning experience.

One way is to take some counters and put down the amount of counters for the first number (addend for addition) and hide the missing number in a cup.  Students then figure out how many counters are in the cup.  They can put the counters together to check.  The pictures below are an example:

Click on the graphic organizer to get THREE graphic organizers for free!  These are also in my 1st grade pack!

The next pictures are samples of some of the games in my Christmas 1st grade pack.  Click on any of the pictures to check it out!

Thanks for hoppin' by Hopkins' Hoppin' Happenings.  Keep on smiling!
